Arizona Heat

More damage from the Arizona heat. Micro fractures in the glass... yay

Under 200!

So much for the party. Yeah, I said I'd have a party when I weighed under 200. I guess I never counted on being this broke. It's fine though, I went tubing this weekend and that was plenty fun. Also, I found this bag with enough mony to pay for the trip! Sounds like a party to me :p

Diet Update

Apparently you can overdo a diet. I mean so far so good... It's been a month & a week since I started my diet and so far I've lost 23 lbs. I'm getting precariously close to being under 200... I don't even remember when I weighed that last... anyway, so I've noticed some things that have made me rethink my diet plan. So I mentioned before that I don't seem as hungry as I used to and I even forget to eat sometimes. Well, in looking at my average daily calories, I'd say I'm somewhere around 800-1200 a day, sometimes less. I mean I'm not starving myself I really don't feel hungry. Now, Ive been doing research and it seems that changing my diet like this for an extended period of time has actually reduced my metabolism. That's why my weight loss has slowed. It seems I've taken it too low... I still run daily and all that, but I've noticed lately that I've had less energy than before. All good signs that I need to eat more. So funny thing is, that now in order to lose weight I need to eat more. The world's a strange place. But, I'm going to get up earlier, eat more protein and get my calories up to 1,700... sigh. It's an ironic thing... here I am not wanting to eat more, but I have to. I really don't want to go back to the feeling of being hungry all the time... this is all so messed up!

PS> I borrowed an image from the web to make my posts look better... sue me :p traineo

The Process of Death

Conventional medicine does not understand death. I read a medical study on cells. As it happens, a doctor will pronounce a person dead when heart and brain activity have ceased. In truth, the body's trillions of cells are still very alive. They are merely in a state of hibernation due to the lack of circulation. When they were studied under a microscope, living human cells survived in a state of hibernation for over two hours. Much longer than what current biology would tell us. The current medical procedure is to provide cpr in order to attempt to reintroduce oxygen to the starved cells. This will kill the person.

Blood cells that have entered a state of hibernation react adversely to the rapid reintroduction of oxygen. This causes the cell to enter apoptosis,  starting the death cycle for the cells. The cells die, and so do any chances of being resuscitated. The new study suggests that when a patient enters the stage we'd normally associate with death, it is best to immediately cool the subject to near freezing temperatures and to then slowly reintroduce oxygen to revive the cells slowly, reviving the body and also the person.

Running

Along with these new eating habits and workout ethics, I've found some definite changes in my behavior. So, I've been running for about a week and a half. And every time, it seems like I get a little further than the time before... Never really pushing it too much. Until last night. At about 2am, I decide I really need to go running in downtown Phoenix. And I just completely shattered any kind of personal record that I had made for myself. I was in a constant run for over 15 min. I mean, this is faster then a jog, but slower than an all out run. But, I mean, a couple days ago, I was doing this in small incriments of say 5min. I'm starting to feel that if I hit the right groove, and my mind is busy with other things, I can distract myself from the pain my body feels and just go. It was awesome :)

That along with this new eating habit... I never thought I'd be one of those people who forgets to eat. I used to hear people say that and I'd want to hit them... lol well, now I guess I'm becoming one o those people.

I hope Karla's gallery showing goes well tonight! Wish I was there!

Color... love hate relationship

I love color, believe me. I've even looked at using color in some novel applications outside of the arts... and yet, this issue of consistency is something that I just don't know how to deal with. Monitors look different depending on their model, time they were made, color profiles, sync, temperature, video card, codec... it goes on. And add to this how things prints... forget it.

This is of such concern, that they are even developing "Pantone" materials so that product manufacturers can enjoy a consistent color to the whole production line... I mention this because I decided to work on those pictures the other night on my laptop monitor instead of the 23inch apple display. I mean, it can't be that different, right? Yeah, that was me fooling myself into that one. so, I've gone through and made some changes. now it doesn't look quite as good on laptops as they did before, but at least now I know I'm getting "accurate" color right? Yeah.

A Camera Looks Both Ways

I Simply Can't get enough today.
I've uploaded three images to my DA Account. The last five have been from my Boston trip. It was such an unforgettable experience for me. Many thanks to my beautiful model and the great people she surrounds herself with.
